Green Groups Engagement

When dealing with environmental protection and conservation issues of the DSD projects, we take a proactive stance to maintain long-term relationships with green groups. In the year under review, we arranged two meetings to exchange views with local green groups, including Conservancy Association, Designing Hong Kong, Green Power, Hong Kong Bird Watching Society, Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden and World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong. Discussions were held over wide-ranging issues, such as enhancing the ecological value of rivers, preserving habitats in existing rivers, revitalising water bodies, promoting biodiversity, fostering a water-friendly culture and addressing environmental issues related to operation and maintenance work. We also arranged a tea gathering with green groups on 9 August 2019 that included a site visit to the revitalised Kai Tak River. We were happy to review our collaboration over the years and plan our way forward.
