DSD Participated in the Urban-Rural Integration Orientation Day

28 April 2024

The Heung Yee Kuk Youth Affairs Committee organised an activity called "Urban-Rural Integration Orientation Day" on 28 April 2024 to deepen the public's understanding of various districts in the New Territories. 8 teams travelled through various checkpoints at the North District, Tai Po District and Sha Tin District. Cavern Projects Division of the Drainage Services Department (DSD) was invited to participate in the activity. The Community Liaison Center of the "Relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns" project was used as one of the stops to introduce the daily work of DSD. In addition to small exhibitions and mini-games, Engineers from DSD also introduced the characteristics of caverns construction and drill-and-blast construction method. They also allowed participants to experience the site conditions through "Virtual Reality Cave". The participants were very engaged and actively asked our colleagues about knowledge of drainage services, fully showing the atmosphere of inclusion.
