Eco Expo Asia 2023 returns in October with the theme “Taking the Leap towards Carbon Neutrality”

Eco Expo Asia 2023 will take place from 26 – 29 October 2023 at the AsiaWorld-Expo. While the first three days of the Expo will be opened to the trade, the last day will also be opened to the public. The theme of the Expo is “Taking the Leap towards Carbon Neutrality”, focusing on the technological innovations that will help to decarbonise the world.

As an important event for the environmental industry, Eco Expo Asia has been providing a platform for showcasing innovative green products and services, learning about the latest trends and expanding business networks. Eco Expo Asia 2023 will continue to bring together industry leaders from different sectors to transform Hong Kong into a more sustainable and liveable city.

“Yuen Long Effluent Polishing Plant” Project by Drainage Services Department

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) has been striving to adopt renewable energy technologies on a wide scale in its existing and new facilities for reducing carbon emission and thus combating climate change. Through the Expo, DSD will introduce its blue green infrastructure project “Yuen Long Effluent Polishing Plant”.

“Yuen Long Effluent Polishing Plant” project will increase the treatment capacity of Yuen Long Sewage Treatment Works from 70,000m³ to 150,000m³ per day by phase. With the increase in sewage treatment volume, DSD will enhance treatment level at tertiary effluent polishing standard to ensure that its discharge will comply with more stringent environmental requirements, thus protecting the ecological setting of Deep Bay.
