Note : With the declaration
of the entire HK territory under Water Control Zones on 1 April 1996, trades
with Chemical Oxygen Demand values higher than 2000 g/m3 are assumed to
have reduced their wastewater strength to 2000 g/m3. The above TES rates
are based on the reduced COD values.

Note : For a trade,
business or manufacture listed above, the amount of TES charged is equal
to 80% of the volume of water supplied, other than water supplied specifically
for flushing purposes, multiplied by the corresponding rate in Table G2.
Variation of Sewage Charges
A
non-domestic consumer can apply for a reduction of SC or TES if the
consumer can demonstrate that the volume of wastewater discharged
into the public sewerage system is not more than 85% of the volume
of water on which the SC or TES is based.
A consumer liable to pay TES can apply for a variation of the TES
rate for his premises by having the pollution level of the trade effluent
discharged reassessed at his own expense by an approved laboratory
in accordance with the Technical Memorandum issued by the Secretary
for Works. Upon the satisfactory completion of the reassessment, a
revised TES rate will be determined according to the charging matrix
shown in Table G4 and will take effect for one year. |
