Prof CHAN Lung Sang Professor The University of Hong Kong

Prof Chan Lung Sang of the Department of Earth Sciences at HKU received his bachelor degree from CUHK and his Masters and PhD in geology and geophysics from University of California-Berkeley. His specialties include geology, tectonics, and applied geophysics. He served on the steering committee of the Geophysical Site Characterization Studies of GEO and consulted over 15 projects on the use of geophysics methods in ground investigations for government and geotechnical firms.  Among his applied research publications are works on surface wave dispersion methods, infrared thermometry, and use of magnetic parameters as proxy measures of heavy metals abundance.
