Ir SHE is an electrical engineer by profession. After graduation from the Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1976, he worked in the Hong Kong Electric Co. for two years, and then continued his engineering career in the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department. He participated in the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the electrical and mechanical systems of government installations. In 2011, he was transferred to the Drainage Services Department and took up the post of Assistant Director of Drainage Services, overseeing all electrical and mechanical aspects of wastewater and stormwater drainage services, covering capital works for new infrastructure, improvement works to existing assets, operation and maintenance of existing systems and facilities.
