This Baseline Environmental Monitoring Report was prepared by Cinotech Consultants Ltd. for the Project “Harbour Area Treatment Scheme Stage 2A – Construction of Sewage Conveyance System from Ap Lei Chau to Aberdeen”. This report presents the baseline monitoring works performed for noise at M9 (Ap Lei Chau PTW) for the Project between 6th January 2010 and 19th January 2010.

The baseline noise
monitoring was conducted at one monitoring station (M9 - Ap Lei
Chau PTW) between 6th
January 2010 and 19th January 2010.

Noise levels at the monitoring station were
measured for a period of 14 consecutive days. Monitoring Data collected was reviewed and
analyzed. Details of the locations
and results are presented in this report. The baseline noise
monitoring data was processed according to the following periods:
· Daytime: 0700-1900 hrs on normal weekdays
· Evening-time: 1900-2300 hrs
· Holiday-time: 0700-1900 hrs on holidays
· Night-time: 2300-0700 hrs of next day

Since Leighton Asia in joint venture with Leonhard Nilsen & Sonner
AS (LNS) has been awarded contract for the construction of a sewage conveyance
system from Aberdeen to Sai Ying Pun on Hong Kong Island, the air quality
monitoring station at Dairy Farm Ice and Cold Storage (CM_AB1) and noise
monitoring station at Wah Lai House, Wah Kwai Estate (M8) have been set up by
ATKINS (ET of Contract Nos. DC/2007/24) to monitor the air quality and noise in
the vicinity of the sensitive receivers. Please refer to baseline environmental
monitoring report for Contract No. DC/2007/24 for details on monitoring
parameters, frequency and programme, monitoring equipment, monitoring methodology
and QA/QC procedures.
