• Overseeing operation, maintenance and minor improvement works of drainage and sewerage systems, village flood protection schemes and fabric dams in northern New Territories region
• Overseeing district drainage matters in northern NewTerritories region such as vetting drainage proposals of town planning applications and building submissions for developments, providing drainage connections and providing advice on Government and other projects affecting drainage facilities
• Enforcing the Land Drainage Ordinance
• Working with the Shenzhen Water Resources Bureau on maintenance of Shenzhen River
